IEBC Newsletter – Supporting Student Success Through Dual Enrollment Programs

This March, the IEBC team has been on the road nearly as much as college basketball players playing in the NCAA tournament.

At the National Summit for Dual Credit Programs held at South Texas College at South Padre Island, Texas, IEBC President and CEO Dr. Brad Phillips was a featured keynote speaker. He discussed the use of data in a storytelling format to support educators in advocating for their programs and the great work that they do.

“It used to be that dual enrollment was more for the high-end students to get them started in college early on, but the reality is many students can be successful in college and dual enrollment helps cement that fact,” said Dr. Phillips.

Dr. Rebecca De Leon, Dean of Dual Credit Programs at South Texas College, said “This is truly a milestone for South Texas College, as we have 28 states in attendance, close to 300 attendees, all focusing on college readiness and dual credit.”

South Texas College produced a video wrap-up report on the event. We’re pleased to share it with you, with our thanks to the team at South Texas College for sharing it with us.

The event was hosted by South Texas College in collaboration with the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).
